Adjunct Theology Professor

It is a grand ideal to spend almost two decades studying and hoping to teach theology to the young. The idea of teaching and preparing the next generation is grand. Yet dreams are just that unless we put a lot of work and effort behind them.

According to the Babb Group it takes between 80-120 applications before one receives their first interview and hopefully first contract. This can take anywhere from 5-7 months. It is a very competive field. Some have reported annual income in the six figures, but I haven’t met anyone that can attest to that kind of salary.

My CV is ready, I have some 10 letters of recommendations, and I am starting to receive leads from several different sources. Many institutions hire their adjuncts out of pools now. Spent tonight applying to place my name into several of those pools.

The process has begun….Wish me luck.
